Problems

The local shop performed the installation of the new rotors, pads, and lines and initially there were no problems. Though there is a slight whirring sound from the rotors when you make a hard stop. It almost sounds cool, and the PowerSlot rep, very knowledgable and helpful said this noise is normal.

Tips

About a month after installation and very careful braking in - no hard stops at all for the first 300-500 miles - there developed a rattling from somewhere in the front end that was noticable only going over bumps. I took the car back to the shop that did the work on the brakes and asked them what was wrong. After a test drive they had a peek and said that apparently the stock clamps or brackets that attach the pads to the calipers had lost their tension(?) and that new ones were needed. They said they could order them from Nissan for about $19 a set. I agreed and they did the work, after which everything was fine. Assuming the whole thing wasn't bogus and a scam it may make sense to replace those clamps/brackets while your at it if you're going to install this set-up.

Thoughts

Pedal feel is much better as well as stopping distance. Fade is pretty much nonexistant now. It is difficult to get the brakes to lock up now unless you really stamp on the pedal, but they seem to tear off speed very well. I have not had a chance to take them out to the track yet, but I imagine all of these attributes will be accentuated.

Other

In the mornings when it is cold and the car has just started up, the brakes are noticably soft and not eager to stop. This vanishes after a couple stop-signs and the car has had a chance to warm up.
