Problems
The only major problem I had was when my friends and I were removing my old exhaust. Some of the bolts of the Cat's heat shield would break due to years of extreme heat. Now I drive without a heat shield for my cat. This also elminated buzzing noises. The only minor problem was trying to get the new borla exhaust system installed straight. It took three tries to straighten out the muffer and the secondary pipe. The primary pipe with resonator (that connects to the cat) was the easiest, but putting the bar in and through its exhaust hanger require all of my friends strength. The only bad side effect was that the exhaust gave off a bad smell like a rotten egg. This only lasted for the first week or so. After the stainless steel was broken in, the smell went away. Other than that, I have notice that my car eats more gas now.
Tips
The most important thing you need is your friends. It is much easier and faster if you have help. Also you will need your basic tools, jacks and air-power or electrical impact. We also used a rubber hammer to adjust the pipes in and out of each other.
Thoughts
Borla exhaust system is truely the best. I can move faster at any speed in any gear. The muffler is really a straight pipe. 100% stainless steel, even the bolts and clamps it came with were stainless steel. Borla also gives you a 1 MILLON MILE WARRENTY. If installed correctly, you will never, ever, ever have problems with your exhaust system. It is totally street legal! The dual tips gives it a some what of a sleeper look instead of "give me a speeding ticket, police eye catcher, coffee can, played out" single tip. Borla stamps their name on the muffler and resonator. Now I look foward to getting my oil changed because when the mechanics raise my car, I can see all of them wanting to look and talk about my car. Other owners envy me. THIS EXHUAST SYSTEM IS SO quiet. The whole exhaust system almost looks like chrome.
Other
"What you pay for is what you get" and I am very happy with what I got. HKS cat-back systems only have stainless steel tips. Greddy only has stainless steel muffler and tip. Borla is ALL STAINLESS STEEL. BORLA will not wear down with age. It is very strong and will last for ever. In most cases, longer the the car itself. 2.25 inch back pipping with mandel bends. The dual tips look better than HKS's dual tips and way better than stock! Its evil-looking. If you want to spend a total of $300 and have the faster car in the world, then get Pace Setter. If want to step up to ceramic coated aluminum material exhaust system that gets louder with age, and have to re-invest money into your exhaust then buy HKS or GREDDY. But if you want to do something right the first time and never have to worry about your exhaust system and get the maxium power, GET BORLA!!!!!
