Problems

The removal of the old shifter was a bitch due to the fact that the goddamn knob's threads were siezed to the shaft (if a 2 ft pipe wrench isn't gonna move it, a hacksaw will). Other than that, it was a snap, even though they didn't send instructions.

Tips

Make sure you have an allen wrench set, ring pliers and a small flathead screwdriver. Install the shifter and it's components first, then jam that rubber piece over the TOP of the shaft (trust me, it will fit with a bit of convincing). If you have the parts facing the right direction and everything is secure, you're all set.

Thoughts

Definitely shorter throws by about 40%. I can't even reach the radio from the stick in 3rd anymore. Nice and tight as well, with no wobbling motions. Helps alot protecting your gears from being chewed from the more positive engagement. The shaft itself isn't much shorter than stock, but it really doesn't need to be, because you'd be shifting around your ankles with your thumb. Excellent quality, fit and finish; kudos to Pilot Motorsports.

Other

Other people have had problems with it popping out of gear, especially 5th. If you have everything installed correctly, you should be just fine. Mine worked the first time and I tested it (just ask that 325is) to make sure. Excellent product and a worthwile upgrade for those who like to shift quick.
