Distributor Timing

The pupose of this faq is to show how to get the distributor in the correct timing position.

  • 1st locate your front main pully

  • Understand the markings on the pully, if you can't see them, turn with a socket wrench clockwise (pretty tuff)

  • Make sure that you have the spark plug wires on the correct cylinders

  • Check that the rotor on the distributor is in the #1 cylinder position at TDC; don't be alarmed if it is in the #4 cylinder position b/c it can be in both, just spin the pully another 360 degrees to get it to normal position (Also see next pic)
